Quirky Little Bear

QUIRKY  BEAR

Here's a Quirky Little Bear which I've just made today out of knitted fabric which makes him very cuddly.  He has a fleece muzzle and scarf and is quite a character.   We like him and hope you do too.

I would be so grateful if someone would leave a comment as I know people look at my blog sometimes.

I would love to hear from you if you could take the time. :)

WILLOW WREATHS

Willow  Wreaths

Shabby Chic Willow Wreath with
blue/cream fabric flowers
Natural Willow Wreath with
pink/green on white fabric  flowers
These pretty wreaths are hand woven from local Willow and embellished in various ways.

I have painted some in the shabby chic style and added fabric flowers,
Shabby Chic Willow Wreath with handmade fabric heart
and silk type flowers
whereas this one has silk type flowers with a hand made fabric heart.
They all look very pretty hanging on a front door or on an indoor wall as decoration.
Please feel free to leave a comment and all are available to purchase.

HEDGEHOGS!

Who can resist hedgehogs?  They have a universal appeal and are just so cute so I decided to have a go at making some hedgehog doorstops.

The hedgehog in the right of photo which weighs about half a kilo is still waiting to find a new home.  The other two have already snuffled off  to pastures new!

The hedgehog above is my newest creation and weights about 1 kilo or 2lbs. in weight.  They are filled with poly filling and rice to give them weight.

Their tops are made from fluffy yarn hand sewn on to make the 'spiky top which in actual fact is really soft and cuddly!   The larger ones retail at £20.  Please contact me if you like them.

BUTTERFLIES, BEACH HUTS AND BIRDIES Applique Cushions

Applique cushions have been the order of the day just recently and so I thought I would post them on my blog.

I had a special request to make one with a flurry of butterflies in pinks and greens.

They are appliqued on a beautiful vintage damask tablecloth inherited many years ago which no longer graced the table but the cloth was perfect for a decorative cushion.

I was so inspired with the butterflies I thought I would try to design another 'picture' in cloth and this little bird house was the result.
I was so pleased with it I really would have liked to keep it but it was no sooner seen than sold which was  so nice to know someone else liked it as much as me! :)

A seaside theme was next requested by my
sister with a Beach Hut and bunting.

We were both pleased with the result and I can almost smell the sea - can't you?

FUNNY BUNNIES!

 FUNNY  BUNNIES!

I couldn't resist making some of these little bunnies in all sorts of fabrics.

A dairlea box soon turned into an Easter basket  with tissue petals to pretty it up, all ready for one to live in and add some chocolate eggs later.

Might be fun to use a little hen instead another time.

This little bunny hopped to Devon and has been Christened
'Dotty' not surprisingly!

The others have all found new burrows too.

I'd love to hear from anyone as to whether you like them or not or any new ideas for making bunnies?

Happy Easter everyone.  Jesus is Alive!

Elephants

Absolute favourite so far!
Making little elephants has been my latest project as you can see below.  They are so cute and would be ideal to hang on your door or in your car or just anywhere!
Elephants on Parade

Elephant with one Pink and one Blue Fleece Ear!
This little chap has angora wool in his fabric so not suitable for babies but oh so adorable.
Wedding Elephant

For something a bit different for a wedding why not consider a Wedding Elephant.   Made of cream satin with embossed organza ears she is something special.

Probably more to follow, watch this space.

A Snowy Day with The Teds (For the Grandchildren or Young at Heart!)

Breakfast First...

Where's our grub?

Then out to explore the snow.....

Steggy didn't want to get his feet cold so he climbed the fence.

Little Teds meet the Snowman
He's a very 'cool' looking Snowman don't you think?

Hold on Ted!
Then they did a spot of tree climbing...  Can you spot Steggy looking on at the bottom?

Miss Mouse

Miss Mouse!

Miss Mouse resting under the lamp

Miss Mouse is all hand made and arrived yesterday looking very smart in her matching dress and handbag ensemble!  She is also wearing a matching bow and her dress is
embellished with felt flowers.  Brown cordouroy boots compliment her outfit and show off her long slender legs.

All in all she is a 'Mouse About Town' and can't wait to go on her first shopping expedition.

FOR CAMELLIA FANS!

 CAMELLIA  HEAVEN!

I just had to post these beautiful Camellias which we saw at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham.  They have a Camellia House absolutely full of every colour you can think of.

It is well worth a visit along with the 500 acre Deer Park.   The whole thing is free along with the Natural History Museum and all you have to pay for is the £2 parking for the whole day which is pretty good!

Go along and enjoy!

Wooden Jewellery

Wood and Antique Bronze Necklet and Bracelet

This is a new venture for us as we 'branch' out (sorry for the pun!) into making wooden jewellery.  All of the wooden discs are hand made here by Chris and all interlinked with bronze rings on toggle and bar fastener.  We will hopefully be adding new designs soon.
FIRST  SNOWDROPS  OF  THE  YEAR

I just love snowdrops and photographed these
lovely specimens at Felley Priory, Nottinghamshire last week so they are really quite early ones.
They always cheer me up as I know Spring is just around the corner now!

A Troupe of Toadstools

Sherwood Originals
was launched last month with the making of these
lovely little hand carved
wooden toadstools made here in our workshop.

A Troupe of Toadstools
So far we have a choice of three designs, with the
dome, pointed or triangular shaped tops.
If wanted they come with moss and little ladybird or
hedgehog which are very cute
but I personally like them 'au naturelle'!
If anyone is interested email for details at
Wooden Discs
Also available are these wooden discs, either plain or stamped with leaves, flowers, etc.
which would make useful keyrings or tag markers.

'Hoot' the Owl

'HOOT'  THE  OWL
Introducing 'Hoot' the owl who is now living in Devon among some orchids.
He migrated in mid December from the Nottinghamshire countryside
and has settled in very well to his new home.

Large hole beads

Pandora style or European beads as they are sometimes called are very popular so I thought I would show a selection of these large hole beads available at the moment.

There is a lovely selection of colours to choose from
and they are all hand made lampwork glass.
Metal ones are all Tibetan silver.

So affordable
to add to your own collection or for a friend maybe?
